Gustavo holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology (2011), a Master's degree in Geosciences (2014), and a Ph.D. in Sciences (2018) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He has experience in the field of Geosciences, with emphasis on Crustal Evolution and Metallogeny, Isotope Geology, Fluid Inclusions, Petrography, and Field Geology. His main research areas include crustal evolution and the genesis of mineral systems, including IOCG, granite-related Cu-Au, VHMS and Orogenic Au deposits in Precambrian Cratons and Orogenic Belts, particularly in the Carajás Province and Quadrilátero Ferrífero district. He was a visiting professor at the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA) in 2015 and 2016. He is currently working as a Professor of Economic Geology and Mineral Exploration at the Department of Geology, School of Mines, Federal University of Ouro Preto. He is also the vice-coordinate of the Crustal Evolution and Natural Resources Graduate Program from the Federal University of Ouro Preto. He has been continuously involved in projects related to the Society of Economic Geologists, including the creation and encouragement of student chapters.
